Lawn Fertilizer Plus, Five-Step Program: Five applications of Fertilizer, plus One application of Lime*. Applied by MA Licensed Applicators and as recommended by the U-Mass Extension Service. Timing of all applications depend on weather and environmental conditions. After each application, unless otherwise established, a notice of application is left at the door indicating the date, time, service provided, notes or instructions considered necessary and the name and license number of the certified applicator. A Lawn Sign is left onsite, in a location visible when approaching the property. An “Annual Call Before Service” is offered for any property owner that requests a phone call prior to a scheduled visit (see page 1 for details). Landscape Services are not available in all areas.

Core Aeration (leaving the cores) of Lawn Areas to Increase Water, Air, and Nutrient movement to the turf, Reduce Soil Compaction and Promote Root & Shoot growth, once during the Fall season.

Core Aeration is accomplished with a machine called a lawn aerator. This machine creates openings, between one-half and three-quarters inches in diameter, loosening the hardened earth to allow water, air and nutrients to move around. The cores, that come from the holes out of the ground, are left on the soil surface, to be broken up by irrigation, mowing or rainfall.

Compacted soil prevents grass from establishing a healthy root system and keeps water and fertilizer from reaching the roots. Annual Core Aeration will help create a healthier lawn by allowing your grass to grow stronger deeper roots as well as Enhance Heat & Drought stress tolerance, Improve Resiliency & Cushioning and Aid in Thatch breakdown.
Fungicide Application for fungus disease control. 3-5 applications, Early Spring - Early Summer. Conditions May alter the number of required appls.

Anti-Desiccant Application to young plants &/or broadleaf evergreens, to aid in winter moisture retention, in Dec-Jan.

Broadleaf Weed Control is applied to weeds present in the lawn by Spot Application (to reduce the amount of herbicide to aid in the reduction & elimination of broadleaf weeds with the lawn areas. Blanket applications are also available.

Surface Insect Control is applied to the lawn areas using a specialized insecticide targeted to treat specific pests within the designated lawn area(s).
Tick Control is applied to the property as needed for optimal control. Areas may include the lawn, shrub beds and/or any wooded edges around the house, at a minimum of twice per year (Mid May - Early June & Sept.), using an insecticide designed for control of ticks.

All materials are applied by MA Licensed Applicators, at the proper time and with the proper materials as recommended by the U-Mass Extension Service and as weather permits. The above application areas may include the lawn, shrub beds and/or any wooded edges around the house, unless otherwise noted on the service contract. It is our policy that all applications and services are rendered only at the service address indicated on the contract.

Important Notes:
Prevention is not limited to personal precautions. Those who enjoy spending time in their yards can reduce the tick population around the home by:

~ Keeping lawns mowed and edges trimmed
~ Clear brush, leaf litter & tall grass around houses, edges of the lawn, stonewalls & driveways.
~ Prune and maintain plants and remove fallen debris
~ Move play sets away from the woodland edge.
~ Restrict groundcover in areas frequented by family.
~ Stack woodpiles neatly in a dry location and preferably off the ground.
~ Clear all leaf litter (including the remains of perennials) out of the garden in the fall

Mosquito Control is applied to the property as needed for optimal control. Areas may include the lawn, shrub beds and/or any wooded edges around the house.
Each program is tailored to meet the needs of our clients and are applied between mid-May through late September.
For optimal control, it is recommended that treatments be applied every 20-30 days, depending on the needs of the client.

Yard/Party Spray is applied to the property, 4 – 36 hours prior to a scheduled function, as needed for optimal control of nuisance insects. Areas may include the lawn, shrub beds and/or any wooded edges around the home, applied anytime between mid-May through late September. Each application is designed to meet the needs of our clients, using an insecticide designed for specific insect control.

All materials are applied by MA Licensed Applicators, at the proper time and with the proper materials as recommended by the U-Mass Extension Service and as weather permits. The above application areas may include the lawn, shrub beds and/or any wooded edges around the house, unless otherwise noted on the service contract. Herbicide, to Poison Ivy and/or Undesireable growth, applied to areas visible at the time of service.

VERY IMPORTANT POISON IVY ALERT:
After the application of Herbicide, the plants should be left to die completely on their own. Avoid watering the foliage (rain fall is fine). The plants will start to wilt and curl within 24-48 hours, turn yellowish-brown within 5-7 days. The foliage may take 4 or more weeks for complete kill, but the foliage, vines and roots will still have the oils present.

To avoid exposure, even after the vine is dead, you should NEVER attempt to cut, pull out, or burn the Poison Ivy vine! Burning can release the Urushiol into the air, which, if inhaled, could be harmful. Pulling the vines out of the ground will not eliminate all of the roots - the vines will likely return.

After at least 6 weeks and when the vines appear to be completely dead, you can start to dispose of the debris. During disposal, wear rubber gloves, eyewear and clothing that covers all your skin. Place all the poison ivy into a garbage bag along with your gloves. Close the bag tightly and double bag if possible, leaving no part of the plant exposed. Put these bags out with your other yard waste. To avoid a potential breakout, you may want to dispose of your clothes. If you do not want to throw them out, wash clothes separately with warm soapy water and use bleach if possible.

Depending on the location and the amount of Poison Ivy additional applications may be necessary, over the next few growing seasons, to obtain maximum control.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE:
After the application of Herbicide, the plants should be left to die completely on their own. Avoid watering the foliage (rain fall is fine). The plants will start to wilt and curl within 24 hours, turn yellowish-brown in 5-7 days, and should be completely killed in 2-3 weeks. Perennial weeds may take 4 or more weeks for complete kill.

After at least 4 weeks and when the foliage is completely dead, you can start to dispose of the debris. During disposal, wear rubber gloves, eyewear and clothing that covers all your skin. After raking or pulling the weeds/dead foliage, Place all of the debris into yard waste bags and place these bags out with your other yard waste.

Depending on the location and the amount of Undesirable vegetation, additional applications may be necessary, over the next few growing seasons, to obtain maximum control.
